AFCAT (Additional Opportunity to Join the IAF)
Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is yet another for the young men and women, who wish to fulfill their dream of becoming commissioned officers in the Indian Air Force. This channel of inducting the fresh blood into the IAF is in addition to the entry through the NDA & CDSE as various levels. This test is generally held  twice a year, in the months of February and August. Separate notifications are issued for men and women. A brief information about the selection process is given here. AFCAT is conducted for all the eligible candidates, who have submitted their applications by due date, at the designated examination centres. Successful candidates have to go through the intelligence, interview and personality (Psychological) judgement tests conducted at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Gandhinagar, Mysore or Varanasi. Whoever is recommended by the AFSBs has to undergo medical examination as per the standards required for performance of various duties.
